As more founders seek angel funding Samesh Lakhotia and his two entrepreneur friends took to LinkedIn to announce a new venture known as MyInvestorList. The easiest platform to find angel investors. So let’s understand
Founders Story:
Harish Uthayakumar noticed that many founders kept asking him for advice on raising money. At the same time, he saw that many angel investors (people who invest in early-stage startups) were looking for good business ideas but were not getting enough opportunities.
Harish told his friend about this startup, and three friends found MyInvestorList.com. Harish Uthayakumar, Samesh Lakhotia, and Vinit Sarode are the co-founders.
The idea was straightforward to list down angel investors with some filters and features and let the founder access the database at a minimal price.
A startup founder or a college student with an idea can access the database to find his or her first investment. A startup founder has access to angel investor mail and information about investors' backgrounds.
On myinvestorlist.com website it is mentioned as “Built with ❤️ by Samesh, Harish, Vinit and Aditya” But I have not got any sources or information to confirm whether Aditya is also a founder of the company or not.
Myinvestorlist.com Founders Background
Harish is the former founder of Bluelearn and working on a stealth company along with My Investor List. He has completed a bachelor of engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Harish also has a YouTube channel on which he continues to post upgrades regarding his startups along with a lifestyle vlog.
Samesh also completed a bachelor of engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He worked at Microsoft as an ML Research Engineer. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is the co-founder of 42 Labs, a company Building a GenAI product studio that ships both B2C and B2B apps.
According to Vinit Sarode's LinkedIn profile, he is currently a Senior Product Designer at Volt Money. He has also led Blue Learn as a Founding designer and Head of Design. He completed his bachelor of engineering in computer engineering from Father Conceicao College of Engineering.
Business Model of MyInvestorList.com (MyInvestorList)
MyInvestorList offers a list of angel investors' information that startup founders can access at a minimal price. As of now, they have three plans free, pro, and pro+ and each plan comes with its own features.
MyInvestorList will have different pricing models.
The Free model provides full access to the search and filtering of investors. It allows 5 profile views and 5 email IDs per month. It also provides access to email templates.
The Pro plan comes for Rs 999 per month. It provides everything in the Free plan along with 50 profile views and 50 email IDs every month. Users also get access to the startup founder's WhatsApp community.
The Pro+ plan is priced at Rs 2,999 per month. It offers everything in the Pro plan along with 300 profile views and 300 email IDs every month. Users also get access to the startup founder community and pitch deck templates.
It is a straightforward website where startup founders can search for angel investors according to location, experience, or expertise knowledge. And send them their pitch deck, seek mentorship and advice.

They are also working to launch Pitch Deck templates and also building a community for startup founders to help each other and grow in various forms. One of the best things that I have noticed in Harish Uthayakumar's businesses is Community Building, he really focuses on the community which can generate business for him.
Harish Uthayakumar announced on Linkedin that within 4 days website show 6000 users and 20k+ website traffic. Angel investors also show some interest in Myinvestorlist.com.
Personal Take:
I believe the business model is pretty simple, it is just a list of thousands of angel investors along with their email id information. And in today's world, we have a lot of tools that can easily give this kind of information within 10 to 20 minutes.
If I were a startup founder and looking for angel investment then definitely I would not waste my money on a subscription to myinvestorlist.com. Instead, I will use LinkedIn to identify the angel, to get his/her information I will check the Crunchbase database along with some other private market data collector websites free of cost, to get his/her email ID I will use email hunter and angel investor company website. And, I get the same information that myinvestorlist.com offers.
I am sure Founders have great plans and more features to add to the website. I have also shared my thoughts on the product features in the Personal Take (Enhancing MyInvestorList.com: Key Features for Future Growth) section.
Competition Analysis
I want readers to know we do competition Analysis in two ways SWOT Analysis and additional information at the end. So let’s start.
SWOT Analysis of Myinvestorlist.com
Strengths:
Clear, Value-Driven Proposition: Myinvestorlist cuts down the time and effort founders spend on finding investors. It helps startup founders to connect with potential funders directly.
Direct Contact and Community Features: Providing direct access to investor email IDs and access to a WhatsApp community of founders not only speeds up the outreach process but also builds an engaged ecosystem. This hands-on networking approach adds extra value over platforms that merely list investor profiles.
Modern, Streamlined User Experience: The website design is simple. It is easy to use and has clear filtering/search capabilities, helping busy founders quickly locate the right investor based on criteria such as region and investor profile.
Weaknesses:
Limited Features: As of today myinvestorlist.com offers a limited feature even in the paid version compared to its competition.
Reliance on Data Accuracy: The platform’s core value is its verified investor information. Any inaccuracies or outdated contacts could hurt user trust and the overall efficacy of the service.
Brand Maturity and Market Penetration: As a relatively new entrant, MyInvestorList may not yet have the brand recognition or extensive track record of larger, more established investor networks. This could make it harder to convince some founders and investors to fully commit.
On a personal level, I don’t believe this point has some point because every startup starts small and over time builds a big product. It is just a matter of time. Include because I have to cover at least three points in each section.
Opportunities:
Expanding Investor and Founder Networks: As the startup eco-system continuously seeking funding, there is potential to not only increase the number of listed investors but also to widen the geographical scope.
Value Added Services: The startup can offer various value-added services such as educational resources, and even matchmaking or warm-introduction services to boost conversion rates.
This is my favorite point, I have covered this point more deeply in the Personal Take (Enhancing MyInvestorList.com: Key Features for Future Growth) section.
Partnerships with Accelerators and Incubators: Tying up with startup hubs, accelerators, or venture networks could drive increased user acquisition and enhance the quality of both the investor pool and startup applicants.
Leverage data for Insights: As more data accumulates, MyInvestorList could offer market intelligence reports or personalized recommendations for startups.
Threats:
Competitive Landscape: Platforms like Angellist and Gust already serve the startup funding space.
Data Privacy and Regulatory Concerns: Handling investor contact details always brings challenges related to data security and compliance. Any breach or mismanagement could significantly damage credibility.
Changing Investor Behavior: One bad behavior experience of an investor or a startup founders can destroy the MyInvestorList brand image.
Additional Information:
MyInvestorList is a modern, cost-effective tool that addresses many pain points in traditional fundraising. However, its long-term success will depend on maintaining high data quality and expanding its network and features.
Funding and Financial Information of MyInvestorList.com
As of today, MyInvestorList has not raised any external funding, and no financial information found as well.
Personal Take (Enhancing MyInvestorList.com: Key Features for Future Growth)
As startup ecosystems grow in India and more founders seek funding, I believe the product has huge potential. To maximize the platform’s potential, it is essential to introduce new features that provide greater value to startup founders and enhance their subscription experience.
I am confident that as MyInvestorList.com grows, the founders will roll out innovative features and updated plans. If I were leading the platform, I would introduce the following key enhancements:
Updating the Current Product:
1) Primary Survey with Angel Investor:
Conducting a primary survey with angel investors would help collect critical insights such as:
Business contact details
Preferred sectors for investment
Types of funding they are willing to offer (equity, debt, hybrid models, etc.)
This data can be used to introduce advanced filters on the platform, allowing startup founders to search for investors based on funding type, such as:
Debt-only investors
Equity-only investors
Hybrid funding options
These refinements will significantly improve the user experience and help founders connect with the right investors more efficiently.
2) Introduction of debt funding vertical:
Many founders also seek debt funding, to address this demand, MyInvestorList.com could:
List down debt funding providers with key details
Partner with banks and financial institutions to offer startup-friendly loan options
Provide insights into various debt financing structures available for startups
By integrating these features, the platform can cater to a broader audience and become a one-stop solution for startup financing.
These are just a few of the areas I would focus on. I have several other ideas for enhancing the platform, but since this is already a detailed discussion, I will share additional insights in future blogs.
